Department of Biological Engineering, Florida International University, USA
Prof. Chenzhong Li received his M.Sc (electrochemistry) and PhD (bioengineering) from Kumamoto University (Japan) in 1996 and 2000. Currently he is working at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Florida International University (Miami). Before joining FIU in 2006, he held position as a Research Officer at the biosensor group at Canada National Research Council. Prof. Chenzhong Li’s research looks ahead to the next generation of biomolecule based nano-bio conjugates such as DNA nanowires, immune nanotags, as well as end use electronic devices such as biosensors, Lab-on-a-Chip, and enzymatic biofuel cells. Prof. Chenzhong is currently served as editor of PLoS ONE (IF: 3.23), Associate Editor: Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology (IF: 1.74), Editorial Board Member: International Journal of Nanomedicine (IF: 4.38) and Editorial Board Member: Nanomedicine: Nanotechnology, Biology and Medicine (IF: 6.2.) The research interests of Prof. Chenzhong are in Whole cell besed biosensors; Biosensor for cancer and neuro disease diagnosis; Electron transfer properties of biomolecules; BioMEMS/BioNEMS; The applications of nanomaterials in biomedical research and Nanotoxicity.
